Hand Made Hand Painted Plywood Fire screen (click image to go back)

Outline and details of the Flowers, Leaves and Vase forming the design have been carved out and then filled in with paint. Scalloped top Edge. Some damage to the back of the ply has been repaired, but obviously this is not visible from the front, Dark oak colour background. Half Circle Feet. Overall Height 700mm, Overall Width 490mm.
I believe this screen is old but I have no way of dating it. A rare one off item

The wheels revolve and the seat is removable. The horse is hinged to the shafts with screws.
One of the wheel nuts has been replaced with a new one but it does not detract from the overall appearance. I think is quite old but I have no way of dating it.

Smiths was not established as a company until 1931, and the Enfield Clock company was not taken over by Smiths until 1933. Following the takeover, Smiths allowed Enfield to continue trading under its own name until after the second world war until circa 1949 when the Enfield production was moved to Wales.
